I’ve been relying on 0.5TB and 2TB WD external hard drives known as My Passport for storing my photos with great results. So when I saw the WD 4TB was on sale, I simply rushed to Best Buy to get one. Turned out the 4TB is no longer a My Passport; it’s now Easystore. Other than the name change, basically it works just as efficiently as before. Oh, one more note: Unlike My Passport, the Easystore came preloaded with several promotional items which troubled me briefly before I realized what they were and removed them. With 4TB, I don’t expect to ever need to buy another storage device again.

I bought this because the one before it was getting old, very easy to transfer everything over and it is super fast.

Purchased this as a replacement for my previous storage device, and so far it has been working very well. Obviously with external hard drives, we'll have to see whether the quality and functionality continues to work as expected, but the speed and connection seem to be quite good so far.

One never knows how effective a backup drive is until the unfortunate day when you lost all your data and that is when you get to use the restore software that comes with the hard drive. I have thankfully not reached this point. With regard to the backup part of the software, so far it is not backing up my data according to the schedule I set. The directions say to set your schedule and then backup immediately. After this initial backup the software is supposed to back up according to your schedule. So far this has not happened once. Every week I check it and it says "missed backup" and the day it was supposed to run the backup. I cannot get it to work so I backup manually since I cannot rely on the software to run this task. Hopefully it will restore my data should the day come when I need it.

This is a great hard drive at a great price. The drive works as expected and is fast and quiet. Mounted quickly and includes backup software if you need that.

The 4tb of disk space is fantastic for the portability and small size of the device. Speed has been fine when uploading video from the external drive to the internet.

I have three of these portable hard drives. As a student, i find them very valuble. I have never had any issues with them. I just keep running out of space lol
