Lots of storage
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed to back up the files from my server, I needed 10tb total, this and some older drives I already had got me covered. This drive was quick and quiet. I did think I might have gotten a bad one at first because I got what sounded like the "click of death". The thing about a USB3.0 drive is the power required is a bit higher than some of the older legacy ports can provide. When I plug it into a blue or red, 2.0 or 3.0 port everything is hunky dory. I think the problem some folks have with newer drives might be related to this.

Good backup

I used these to replace some external drives that used external power supplies that were starting to fail. I really like that they are USB-powered and a lot smaller than my previous drives. They do seem to heat up, but I only use them as I do the actual backup.

Both were nothing but trouble for ps4 crashing and losing all data etc! At least three times of that with each! Got this and have had absolutely no issues!

I would recommend downloading the App from WD before trying to install. Once installed the hard-drive was immediately recognized and ready for prime time. The App also provided monitoring features and your ability to incorporate cloud storage.
