Recently, my main computer was having technical issues and there was a possibility of losing data. Data were pictures, videos and documents from our family genealogy archive and most of it could not be retrieved. WD 4TB Easystore saved the day and our data was now on one drive system intact with space to spare for updates. Thank you!

Got it cheap as extended memory for PS4. Works great.

Bought this to use as additional storage for Xbox One X. It formatted the drive as soon as I connected it, and now I have about 3.6 TB of additional storage available. I don't leave the drive connected to save wear on it, I just connect it when I complete a game and transfer the data to keep the internal HDD free. Works great!

Very portable, Good write/read speed. Great value

I like the 4TB and external... can swap to different machines. Sometimes takes about a second to pull up a folder likely due to the size and/or connectivity. Has a slight 'purr' whereas my Seagate drive is still (same size) . Overall nice, does the job... longevity is key though, we'll see. Be sure to backup always...

This drive, like most, came pre-formatted for Windows. I plugged it into a Mac at work, opened "Disk Utility" and reformatted it, default settings. One part of our network is so slow, I was lucky to get 7 MB/s down from it, and I wrote to this disk at that speed nonstop for 18 hours. Then I moved about 750 GB over from the Mac's SSD in several thousand files, didn't even bother to zip, and still probably achieved about 200 MB/s. After safe ejection, I traveled by aircraft with the drive for several hours. Later I plugged it into a PC. One could purchase software to read/write the HFSE format from Windows, or download the Java Development Kit and Erik Larsson's great freeware app to read-only from the drive; I did the latter. This was a good drive for my use-case of time-sensitive transfer of large amounts of data that was backed up in other ways. Thank you Best Buy, Western Digital, all the computer science PhD's and long hours of skilled labor that it took to bring us this awesome 4TB future.

These are great hard drives, the cables wear out faster than the drives.

Used my student discount to purchase the drive for $95 as a backup to my PC. USB 3.0 interface transfers data very quickly.
