The drive is easy to use and contains plenty of storage for a typical home computer back up.

This drive, like most, came pre-formatted for Windows. I plugged it into a Mac at work, opened "Disk Utility" and reformatted it, default settings. One part of our network is so slow, I was lucky to get 7 MB/s down from it, and I wrote to this disk at that speed nonstop for 18 hours. Then I moved about 750 GB over from the Mac's SSD in several thousand files, didn't even bother to zip, and still probably achieved about 200 MB/s. After safe ejection, I traveled by aircraft with the drive for several hours. Later I plugged it into a PC. One could purchase software to read/write the HFSE format from Windows, or download the Java Development Kit and Erik Larsson's great freeware app to read-only from the drive; I did the latter. This was a good drive for my use-case of time-sensitive transfer of large amounts of data that was backed up in other ways. Thank you Best Buy, Western Digital, all the computer science PhD's and long hours of skilled labor that it took to bring us this awesome 4TB future.

I couldn’t play any more games due to no space on my PS4 .i was thinking of either erase my sons games and keep mine ;p or buy another ps4 . But I seen this for less than $100 and jumped on it in a heartbeat. So now it’s like having 4 ps4’s of 1TB . Note: you gots to format it on the game console before storing data.

I purchased this hdd on Black Friday for ~$85. Well worth the purchase because the 1 TB hdd on the Xbox One X is a joke.

this portable hard drive is really easy to setup for a mac. highly recomend for MAC users with small ssd's like myself.

Extremely easy to use as stated in the title. Literally plug in with a USB and get going, I don't see how it could be any easy. No need to fiddle around inside your desktop, or if you have a laptop it's awesome.

Storage, especially portable, keep getting larger as the package gets smaller. The up side is this WD can hold a tremendous amount of data, the down side is if it were to get damaged. Cloud storage is one solution for a backup but the price of this 4TB unit is affordable to have a second unit as a backup.

The drive does what it's designed to do, store files. I just it was faster than 5400rpm. If it was 7200rpm, this would have been perfect.

The easystore product is just like it says; plug and play. Take it out of the box, plug it into your PC and you're ready to copy files. Or, if you want to use it to automatically back up your files, install the WD Discovery software (already on the drive) and easily set up when you want to back up your important files.

I have heard great things about the WD external drives. I am a photographer and this hard drive is great for traveling.

Got this for a friend and checked the real world speed which is above 100MBps for both reading and writing, recommended.
