Western Digital is a wonderful brand. I have always been satisfied with this brand. This external HD is perfect for storing all my pictures on it and passing it around to my friends. It is Windows and Mac compatible so just plug and play.

Works Great as data storage for my movies and tv shows. I use this with the Shield TV. I can take these two devices anywhere I want and am able to watch my selection, even if there is no internet connection. Works quickly. I will update review if I have any failures.

We purchased this as additional storage for our Xbox One. It formatted easily for the Xbox and has become a staple to the game system for the kids. It allowed us to purchase a cheaper system (less storage) and also allows the kids to take their games to a friends home.

This replaced a powered hard drive that had compatability issues with my Xbox. This works flawlessly. Plug and play with no external power needed. Be warned that 4tb fills up quickly. I have about half my games on this and half on ps4 and it still fills up fast.

I mainly use drives like this for manual backup of my files. I bought the 4 TB size to try an use it for manual and programmatic (using WD's software) backups. The initial WD software backup took a long time (for approx. 650 GBs). I have not yet tried a restore from that backup hence only 4 stars. If you want this drive to store large amounts of media and large media files this is a good choice.Use a USB 3.0 port and your files fly from their location to the drive

Just needed an external usb portable HDD to back up my desktop and laptop. I'm hoping that this will fair better than the last usb HDD.

I got this for a steal and I'm happy I picked up the last one in store. I love how far technology has gone. I have an old 1TB that is larger and heavier than this and required its own power source. This one is palm sized, 4 times the capacity and can fit into a pocket.

When you need a lot of data to fit in a small space, this is definitely the drive to get. I recommend pairing it with one of the WD portable drive protective carry cases to make it easier to keep together and to protect it from otherwise nasty drops.

This simple external hard drive is good for fast computer backup.

I've stayed far away from WD for the last few years. They've been having a lot of problems with there external drives dying right after the warranty expires. I'm pretty impressed with the transfer speed, even with older computers. As for the provided software, you can skip.

Bought for kids for Christmas. Hoping it solves the problem of storage on ps4 for both kids.

I needed a backup for my backup. I plugged this baby in and then backed up everything from my other external backup. It's so nice that this is portable. After everything saved, I put it in my safe in case of fire. Now I can sleep much better at night knowing all my files are safe!

I saw this on sale for a customer appreciation day at $89.99, so I bought it. They usually go for $199.99 and may have just dropped to $149.99 so I got it at a great price. I use mine for my PC backups which tend to be very large. I'm very happy with it.

I have one for my Xbox and it works great. I needed another one for my son gaming system so I choose this one because I have no issue with the first one. When the time for another I will get this one again. Great price and storage, what more can you ask for.
