This is your normal WD Easystore drive. It is not SSD however it seems to have less problems than most drive. This is the 4th one I have purchased. There is nothing bad about drive and it seems to stand the test of time. Make sure you do not misplaced or loose the cable as all cables do not work

Compared to other backup drives I've had in the past----this one had more required programs I had to install on the pc before I could use it. Program is a little bit confusing on how to get the information but it's a 4TB external hard drive---so no complaints on that. It's not a "plug-n-play"---so be prepared.

I've been using Western Digital to back up my 'stuff' for over ten years. Have to, to save loss of data when you computer dies. It has saved my a lot of time and trouble and especially loss of data.

Bought this drive mainly for backup photos from a mac machine. The read/write speed is really impressive and I like it very much

Used for storing media that just needs to be read once written to disk. Plenty of throughput for streaming media over home network and bought on sale on BB.

in an almost SSD world, capacity and use of these drives will keep it alive, i plugged this into my NAS as a secondary external on the go backup, and gives me piece of mind as second backup

This portable hard drive is great in both size and storage size. No external power adapter needed. And having USB 3.0 is fast. Great service from Best Buy, ordered online and picked up in store.

I was looking for a hard drive to transfer photos and videos onto as a backup. I put one at work in case anything ever happens to my house, I will still have all my kids baby pictures/videos.
