This drive does a great job with Windows 10 backups. You can also use it for Mac Time Machine Backups, but it will format your drive on first use.

I purchased this drive for a portable drive to run Time Machine so I have a copy when I travel and to store a couple of Virtual Machines since my internal SSD is on the smaller side. This drive works great for backup and is low cost for the size however it is a little slow on the active workloads.

Poor instructions for use as a backup drive, primary reason for purchase.

You don't need additional power cable for this external drive. Read/write speed is on par with internal drive, good to have a few for backups.

Connected to my Nvidia Shield as external storage for my Plex server media storage. connected without and issues. Just worked. Always have good experience with WD drives.

Used this WD 4TB storage for my thesis work as one of the backups to the paper. Very reliable. Now I'm backing up data and literature reviews for the dissertation work.

I use this for extra storage for my home computer. I had multiple drives and loaded them all on to this one...have had a 1tb for awhile and now this one...works just as intended

This is a great external Hard drive to save bulky files etc. It was at a reasonable price for the 4TB of space. I would recommend this HD and brand.

Bought this external hard drive to increase storage space for my PS4. The set up was very simple, just plug it in and quickly format it to your PS4 and you are ready to use it.

What can you really say about something designed to be empty. It does the job. The storage capacity makes it easier to fit lots of content in higher resolutions. At about half full at time of review. Hundreds of video's and thousands of pics. All in the highest resolution available at time of download.

probably buy another WD soon. almost have "filled" up all my hard drives. see if a sale comes up, they have good value for hard drives and dependable

This is a fantastic backup drive or a secondary drive, depending on how you want to use it. Easy plug-in-play and fast enough to use for PC or console games. Highly recommend.

I bought this for my xbox one x to store games. It transfers very quickly and has worked perfectly so far. Small, pocket sized and very quiet.Just plug in to usb and go.
