quit after 5 months

Owned for 4 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Was a seemingly good product, feels heavy but purchased in June for the sole purpose of backups, now in November, I feel I can no longer trust this device for backup purposes. The reason for this distrust is because recently the drive has decided to only get a comunication connection via usb 3.0 ports only, I had this device on a 2.0 port forever with no issues and suddenly today i noticed my drive is missing from My Pc and found it to only load on 3.0 ports thus something is failing in this drive. know that when it is plugged into a 2.0 port it has power and the light is on just no live connection.
