Useless software that comes with the product

I could not get it to work, so I called the manufacturer’s product support line numerous times, until I was finally told that the software app that comes with the product does not function well. So I downloaded another software app and finally got it to work. When i asked customer support why they would include defective software with their drive, they said they advise most customers not to use the software that comes out of the box with the product. Amazing...
