Good Drive, Bad Cable
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Copied about 1.5 TB of data from another USB 3.0 drive easily and fairly quickly (averaged about 80 MB/sec). However, after about a day, the drive appeared to fail and could not be accessed. I was about to return it when I tried the cable from another USB 3.0 drive. The drive functioned perfectly. I purchased a new cable rather than going through a warranty replacement. The drive itself is fine. It does appear to get hot with extended use. It is a 5400 rpm drive, so not the fastest. It works very well as a backup device.
