So far, so good. Actually purchased two for redundancy. Did not install the backup software but rather used drag and drop. May change later. The drive has quick response time and do not anticipate any problems. Will update if that changes.

I needed to move vacation videos and photos off of my MacBook Pro's hard drive but still be able to access them for editing. This little big drive allows me to still move files back and forth without losing too much time between transfer and editing.

Plenty of storage. With MacBook Time Machine it is fairly easy to use.

Does what it's supposed to do. Fact that I got it on sale was also nice. Is USB 3.0 so speed is decent.

Ended up formatting it and getting rid of the WD software. Just needed it to store my media collection.

Great way to back up my computer without the hassle of copying and pasting. The automatic back up allow me to do this task seamlessly without having to remember to do them.

Bought this unit to backup pics and videos. Haven't used it yet but the price was right.

Not needed and hard to connect. Need to grey one that just connect and you can put your stuff on it

Best Buy has been very helpful to me on several occasions this year, their customer service and geek squad is great. Had an incident this year that a previous employee didn't follow through with, they corrected it and stood behind their service. Quite pleased!

This is a nice compact size hard drive with plenty of storage space. So far it has worked well.

This drive works great! I use this when I travel so I can show people on Southwest how cute my cats are. It's better than sitting next to the guy who picks his nose. I wonder when we will see 20TB.

Backup software most useful if backing up and restoring to the same completely working computer. Tried to transfer to new hardware. It would not restore to same user on new computer. Had to restore to temp folder and manually copy files from there. Tried to backup another computer that keeps rebooting itself. This drive insisted on installing its backup software first, which couldnt finish, due to reboots.

I have owned the 500gb and 2tb external hard drives from WD. First time buying a 4tb drive. On sale for 50% off at 99$. Which was the same price as my previous purchases. Nice to see good deals for more space! Much better benchmark as well

I have had WD Portable HDD's for a few years now and I never really have issues with them.

Nice portable hard drive. Small but enormous storage capacity. Great price for the storage size.
