My son is starting college soon and he needed a portable hard drive to make sure he can take his files with him. This should work great!

While USB 3 may not be the best for storing frequently used files, this hard drive's great for backing up files from your computer.

Best of the best of the best! Works well as a hard drive. Doubles as a paperweight for the bills while plugged in so that's a plus!

This drive was so easy to back up your data to. Any beginner or novice can use this drive as a backup for photos, documents or videos.

Penny for penny, these WD drives deliver reliable data storage for the price. I use them for video storage/editing, so the are put under constant data stress, yet they never fail. Avoid using the version that requires password protection.

bought this on sale. nothing much to say other than it does what it is supposed to. boots up fast and has decent transfer speeds.

I would have given this product 5 stars but the set up was pretty difficult, because it came as read only and it took me about an hour to change it to wear I was able to put things on it! Besides that I love it and having the bigger size is really nice.

Seems to be working well clears up my computer so it can stay working faster.

I transferred all my games to this hard drive now I can either play in the master bedroom or living room. This is a good choice on hdd.

Really like the compact design, and that is powered by the USB connection to the computer (no other power connection needed).

This is my main backup drive and it works perfectly. Kinda wish the connector was updated to USB-C instead but this works good too.

Got this for secondary external Storage, gets full expected usb 3 transfer rates. Use for external easily disconnect-able storage

Speed is not bad. While it is virtually identical in size & weight to WD's 2Tb My Passport drive (which I have), I'm finding it's about 10-15% faster than that drive, according to BlackMagic. My one real complaint with this drive is how much power it draws. I put a power meter on it, and while it mostly stays in the 500mA range, occasionally it jumps up to 700mA. I've used it with a powered hub on my 12" MacBook (only 1 USB-C port, so you have to use a hub) and I got clicking from the drive as I was transferring files between it and another drive. Eventually I had to give up on the file transfer because it got hung for over an hour. I think it was the power draw, and my Mac thought the drive had become disconnected.

I bought this Hard drive to store my photos on. It works great! Transfers files at high speeds, would recommend this product.

No complaints. It plugs it, it saves, its fast as long as you have a USB 3.0. When you plug it into a slower port, you notice it.
