    So I've had multiple WD external's through the years and never had an issue with one failing. Just wish the transfer rate was a bit faster. If they had a thunderbolt option that would certainly solve that.

    Almost bottomless space for backup's, data safe items, etc. Plug it in to store, remove till needed next time. Very safe method in case of "problems"

    use these in a NAS on my raspberry. just hooked them into powered USB dock so they didn't draw too much power from Rpi and they worked swell. silent, speedy enough, and don't get hot.
