Caveat Emptor

After purchasing, I went to look something up on the Western Digital website and could not find the purchased drive. Upon further research, I determined this is made for Best Buy and possibly with lower grade components or components originally intended to be an internal drive. I returned the item as I need an excellent quality backup. If you are using this for less important backups then it might work fine for you.

used as a back up

So this may well be the last one I will purchase.

When I went to set it up it would not let me configure to the Mac. I took it to a professional and he could not do it easily. Perhaps it will eventually work but it wasn't worth the extra time and money.
