Bought this in November and it must have fell from the desk while moving the computers around and lost everything. It shows there is something on the drive but it will not read it. Asked Bestbuy to see if they could recover the data and they said they could send it off and it would cost between 400-2000 to get the data. Bought a SSD for dependability.

Item did not meet my means. Resulted in return back to Best Buy.

I have used this hard drive for over a month and it was fantastic. Could take it from the office to home and vice versa no worries and ease of data storage is great. Buy a lacie instead this is not worth losing all your data over. Spend the extra money now instead of having to buy two later. For context of use, I work in the tech industry as well as am a video editor for sports brands. I used this heavily for video editing and storing large files. Running premier pro externally on this drive, so to lose that type of data is irreplaceable. NOT A RELIABLE PRODUCT.

Bought this lovely little hard drive earlier in the year, which this Best Buy site and the WD site both stated was compatible with Mac OS (did not specify version, though did say I'd have to reformat.) I went to format this the other day, and discovered from the downloadable user manual that it is in fact only compatible with Mac OS Mavericks, Yosemite, El Capitan, and Sierra. Just an FYI for Mac users out there - this product info is not on either site.

Junky! This thing quit working after a few months of usage

I have had 2 of these drives crash with all my media gone! I have 5 of them, I will never buy another WD drive again! My seagate is still going strong after 4 years!!

Terrible customer service. Today it just decided to stop reading. Their customer service rep said "It must be corrupted." No offer to connect remotely to my computer to see for himself, like every other customer service rep these days. Just directed me to a short list of data recovery "specialists" who are not associated with the company. In short DO NOT BUY WESTERN DIGITAL PRODUCTS IF YOU EXPECT CUSTOMER SERVICE TO HELP WITH AN ISSUE.

I am not quiet a fan of this brand. It is kind of confusing to use it

It does what it’s supposed to do but the cord does not stay connected to the item

Sort of does the job but not really easy to use. I bought for a parent who had difficulty

I had a previous version from the same manufacturer which I had problems and it failed. When I ordered this drive, I am not able to get it to connect to my computer - which remembers the older model. WD Support is email only and initial response takes days - referring simply to the on-line "problem-solving" that I'd already tried.

It's very slow for 4 TB size . I should have bought SSD of 1 TB

Was mislead that it could be used with both Windows and MAC with simply plugging it in.

Did not see any instructions for using it to transfer from one computer to another.

needed easy install and max storage at a reasonable price. This is it.

This hard drive worked to rate it higher than any other would be difficult.

It’s not difficult to setup but they want you to subscribe to a cloud backup

Bought it to store movies off of my dvr but it does not read the external hard drive...

Storage unit was only ok. Only recommend if on sale.
