This product loads files very slowly, especially videos.

Once you get it set-up, this hard drive works very well. However, out of the box it is read-only and you have to install the proprietary software to make it work. I'm way too used to plug and play devices to give a good rating to something like this.

Good price for this 4TB USB 3 external hard drive.

Drive is easy to use. Partitioned drive, formatted and reformatted with no problems. Unlike several WD My Passports which will only eject if we shut down our computers, the WD EasyStore ejects quickly and cleanly from both PC and Mac. Buying another one! Only available at Best Buy. Best Buy does a good job of working with manufacturers to get unique products with features that consumers want (e.g. computers with special configurations, unique drives, Samsung Galaxy Tab s3 in 128 gb configuration etc. The sales people are very helpful, friendly and also often very knowledgeable. As an end user, I really appreciate it!

A one year old drive, never dropped or banged around or left in bad weather in a car, etc. Was working fine on my laptop, powered down. Powered back up about an hour later. Drive spins, no noise, just not recognized. On-Track wants $1200, and several others are around $900-1100. Not worth the hassle. Buy data recovery if you buy a portable.

This drive is ok. Not even good. The drive started to die after copying 60gb of data to it in one chunk. Drive arm clicks?!?! WTF! ULTRA LOW QUALITY FOR A REPUTABLE COMPANY. I only buy western digital for my data. But never again an easystore

i bought it for the price point for 4tb but it never worked for my PS4, xbox, and also my laptop , I had to buy Seagate, which word day one for me

Worked initially. Now it's dead. Cannot do a thing with it. Wanted to use it as a backup. Be aware the instructions are not complete on what it can and cannot do. I am now shopping for another product or system as a backup for my data. WD was not helpful and customer support is inadequate.

I am very disappointed that the well known brand external hard drive is breaking/not working after a year. We cannot rely on this hard drive. I lost all of my data. Data is more important than the storage device. I have 40GB external HD from 2005 Toshiba, it's still working. But this WD brand stops working.

This has got to be the worst external hard drive I've ever had. While the storage size is great it is very finicky. You don't just put it in and it comes on. You have to actually giggle the part that connects to the hard drive. It doesn't happen every time but would say 7 out of 10. I bought this because of great reviews but overall it sucks. I work from the drive a lot so I cannot waste time trying to get it to connect. Moving on to a different drive.

I bought this to use on my MacBook. I downloaded the software but I am not able to transfer photos. Not sure what I am doing wrong there isn't any information or trouble shooting tips.

I purchase this to put all the videos of my daughter on it and plug into the TV and be able to watch it. The same brand in a 1 and 2 Gig work but this one the videos never showed up on the TV but we're loaded on the hard drive. The local geek squad couldn't help nor the 1-800 number so I returned it and went to Sams Club for a Toshiba that worked. I really think it's the easystore model that was the problem.

Do NOT buy! I bought this just over a year ago, at first I thought it was great - easy to use. But now as I go back to reopen files that I saved, many of them won't open. At first I thought it was user error, because it was just one or two files here or there. But now it's happening more and more often to files that were working fine. I'm not sure how many files were destroyed or how many hours it's going to take solving this problem but I will never buy another WD product again!
