My computer would not recognize it but customer service was great and I ended up with a new one

I was initially pleased with my purchase but it quit working after less than 2 months. Tried to return to Best Buy but was told mfg return only. Western Digital said to run their utilities and I did and it passed. It then worked 1 more time before failing again and now their utility program is inop. WD support is an oxymoron so far.

This external hard drive is trash dont get. is not good.

Not user friendly design...much better ones out there!

Not as easy to work like they said on the reviews. I still have trouble making it work properly

First one i purchased failed after 10-14 days, best buy did issue me a new one.

External drive doesn’t come with the needed cable to plug into my Mac laptop

I purchased this external and it worked fine at first. In the past 30 days it has turned off at times while gaming on my console and today it has just stopped working all together. Not sure what made it stop functioning, I was just playing games using it the previous night.

WD will last you for years and this device by them is no different. Portable and reliable- what more could you ask for!

Just use half year then broken, many of peoples same with me, not recommend

Purchased product and after a month went to save files. The next day when trying to access them it would not read and had errors. Worked great the day before.

This has never really worked well. Had it not been for COVID, I would have returned it and tried something else. It is really designed for PC's and the MAC work around just isn't great.

This is not the item I received. I sent my old hard drive out for data recovery, was told I had to purchase a new hard drive. I received a new HD but it’s 8 TB and read only. My computer can’t access it and I still don’t have my data!! Someone needs to contact me.

Having hard time figuring this out. Very confusing.

It's a defective piece and didn't work since first day. I purchased it for immediate use and I had to call up WD support and had it replaced, which took long time and didn't solve my purpose.

I did my research online and thought that this HD was just what I needed to replace another HD that died. But it didn't work, think better suited for a PC and ended up returning it without any problem. Then the sales team was incredibly helpful in identifying what was best, what I really needed.

This drive was purchase 5/11 through CNET Cheapskate Deals recommendations and died 7/10. Best Buy returns only 15 days. Now I have to deal with WD. Poor drive very POOR customer service by Best Buy.

I have used these many times before and maybe I just got a bad one, but after two uses it started clicking and would no longer be readable on most of my machines. I know it is not long for this world. I checked online and this is pretty common. A shame, as these are pretty useful.

This portable HD is very hard to use. The hard drive cannot be recognized by the computer even though it was well connected by USB cable. Very difficult to add the password to this external hard drive. Have checked out online, apparently it is a very common issue to WD product.... Waste of time and money.
