I bought this item because geek squad recommended it in order to transfer my windows computer info into my new Mac. Unfortunately, they were not able to use it and required me to buy the Mac-compatible hard drive. I could not possibly recommend this item if even geek squad had a problem with it.

    Convenient and Affordable Mass Storage

I have been using these little drives for several years now and every one is still going strong. I use them for (retro) gaming and as external storage for Plex. I haven't had a single drive failure while using WD drives and will continue sticking with them as my library grows. Obviously, if you need the absolute fastest speed you may want to go with an SSD. However, this external hard drive has big advantages in cost per unit storage and if you are anything like me you won't notice the relatively brief spin-up and seek time of a conventional drive.

Trusted Brand, Quailty Drive, Awesome Price 4TB!

I recently purchased the new Xbox One X. Since its a 4k gaming consoles the games seem to typ use 100gb. The console comes with 1tb and I have another portable WD brand Touro S 7200rpm 1tb HDD, which means I can only hold around 20 4k games and with the few I have plus all that aren't I'm already 50% used. I was looking through the Black Friday ads for the Green Seagate 4tb Game Drive hoping I'd catch it on sale since I really didn't want to pay $130 for a portable drive, but low and behold I found this WD 4TB Easy store usb3.0 portable drive for $79! This is gotta be the lowest price I've seen on a WD or Seagate 4tb in the past 2yrs I've been looking. Plugged the drive in and instantly the One X recognized it and reformatted with a click of the controller. Games even being 4k monsters still seem to run smoothly & fast. This also comes with a 2yr warranty which isn't bad. The WD My passport X was only 1yr and the WD Mypassport & Ultra are 3yrs.Anyone that just purchased the One X should seriously consider grabing this drive while the sale is going on.

I have bought 2 of these drives and have had nothing but problems with them. It has gotten so bad that none of my three computers (PC and iMacs) will even recognize them. Save your money and find another brand. Now I have two hundred plus dollar paperweights.

I bought this for storing files for my Plex server because my PC hard drive was getting full. I plugged it into my router and mapped it as a network drive on my PC. Works like a charm, never had any issues. I plan on getting a couple more for my Xbox One and PS4 games.

As soon as I hooked this up to wife’s computer win 7 HP i7 processor it started locking up. I tried booting her computer and it would freeze on startup screen. When I removed the HD the computer started functioning probably again.

This hard drive has simply sat next to my pc, recently began clicking which I'm guessing means the head is crashing. I can't imagine trusting it on the go and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
