First let me say that this product is EXTREMELY difficult to format. After plugging it in NOTHING went as it should. I have had several portable drives before and nothing was as FRUSTRATING as this was. Even calling WD service support didn't help. Mind that I have the newest MAC and my OS High Sierra is always updated. SAVE YOURSELF FRUSTRATION AND TIME. DO NOT BUY!!!!

I will be RMA'ing my second one of these drives in as many years. The first one died inside the best buy return window... And I should have taken that as a warning sign. Instead I just got a new one, and a year later it's now dead too. An utterly horrid product, DO NOT BUY THIS. It was never dropped, always sat in 1 spot to be used as an extra drive for a desktop with limited desk space. It just failed, again.

This drive is supposedly Mac compatible, but my MacBook Pro can't see it and won't back up to it. I have run all of the diagnostic programs I can find including Disk Utility, and they all fail because the computer can't see the drive. Waste of money.

My Seagate external stopped working so decided on this one cause it was on sale from $200, thought a good deal, got it home and worked for about 8 hours then just started clicking on the inside. Moved it to my PC to try and find out what was wrong but only said it was a defective hardware issue, will be returning it. Maybe I just got the wrong batch but will definitely find out.

You have to use external app to back up. Can't do file history backup every few minutes, you can only do an hourly backup through the app. The whole thing died after a few days. Waste of money.

Malfunctioned in less than a year. Attempted numerous times to contact the manufacturer and no response although under warranty. Buyer beware. Recommend stay clear or find alternative than to purchase WD easystore.

Don't waste your time and buy this for a mac. Mine would not format for my mac and yours won't either. It does not show up on the desktop and not it disk utility either. A complete waste of time and money.

Use at your own data risk. It won't last long. Low quality products inside. Spend little more for SSD if you don't want to lose your data.

This is the biggest piece of sh it waste of money. Worked for little while then was never discovered by my mac again. Piece of sh it do not buy.

Stay away don't buy device has problems very slow and you lose your data, freeze and don't show your date

Very light use. Died after 1 year, locks up the computer until I unplug it.
