I have an extensive music collection covering the 50's through the 90's and the music files (especially .wav files when converted) require quite a lot of space. this is my 4th Western Digital (WD) 8 TB drive. Although I believe it's actually TWO 4 TB' drives within a single external drive box), I find that the USB 3speed certainly keeps up with NERO software when copying and I have very few CD failures. In closing, I would not have bought the previous THREE drives if I did not believe in and trust the quality. No one likes to LOSE files accumulated for their hobby !! It dawned on my that I had better state clearly that all the previous 3 WD drives purchased STILL WORK - I just needed more space as my collection grew !!

These drives are great stand alone for back up of files. They are also great for tossing a few of these into a NAS box. I have not had any issues with these and am waiting for them to go on sale again to pick up 2 more. They make 10 and 12 TB sizes now so the 8TB is beginning to become the sweet spot for storage drives.

These drives work well for whole house PC backups.

Good performance out of the box. So far the drive is working as expected and the price was lowest I have seen in awhile.

Works as described and have not checked what drive is internally.

Thsi product is surprisngly durable as i have dropped it a couple of times. But all the data is still there and the read write speeds were not affected.

Kinda big but its alot of storage, used for Xbox1 and lost almost a full tb with the "extra" stuff Microsoft puts on it

I needed this for a quick backup for a server, 8TB over USB was too slow even with USB 3, but the case pops right open and then I was able to connect the drive to a SATA controller on the machine and backup at SATA speeds. Then just as easily popped the drive back in the case. Decent drive, decent case, fair price.

I had bought this product about a year ago and was so impressed, I bought another one. I edit a lot of photos and videos in 4k. This hard drive keeps up and you can't beat the price point.

Bought this hard drive as a backup for my system. I've had it for half a year now and I have no complaints. If you get this at a sale price which Best Buy sometimes has, this is a steel.

Really food price compare to other internal hdd. Some may say its not red label drive, but at this capacity you might expect its quality standard is consistent with red labels.

I bought this to serve as a replacement for my backup disk, which was giving signs of imminent failure. Setup was quick and easy and I had it up and running in no time.

Ordered three 8TB easystores. Ran SeaTools full surface scans out of the box with no errors. Filled drives with random video, re-scanned, and again seatools came back with no errors. Solid drives so far.

Setup was easy as plug-n-play. Read/Write speed is quick. I wish there was easier to understand instructions on the individual settings and sharing options.

excellent so far, even though the shipper chunked it on my doorstep. great price, only complaint is it dropped by $20 a month later - oh well. excellent 8TB WD Red inside (checked by CrystalDiskInfo)

SO FAR NO COMPLAINTS WITH THIS REPLACEMENT, I HAD TO REPLACE THE ORIGINAL PURCHASE OF WD-Easystore BECAUSE THE UNIT STOPPED WORKING. I RECOMMEND TOTAL TECH SUPPORT PURCHASE
