I originally purchased a WD Easystore 10TB hard drive for my son who enjoys gaming on the PS4. When we hooked it up it wouldn't format giving us a message that it wasn't compliable with the system. Apparently the largest hard drive a PS4 can handle is an 8TB. Next step was to return the WD10 model and buy this unit which was a step down and am now reviewing. We hooked up the WD Easystore 8TB and everything went as planned. Easy formatting with the PS4 now 8TB bigger!

I notice this drive showed very high temps according to Crystal Disk Info. It goes back down when idle. I shucked my drive (removed the outer shell) and have the bare drive mounted outside my case and I still get VERY high temps when doing a lot of read / writes. Since I don't know what the long term reliability will be I can't really recommend this drive.

Needed a large external storage and was tired of several smaller sized devices cluttering my work area so chose this device. So far so good, easy to convert to Mac and no problems encountered.

This 8 Tb disk is perfect storage for my multimedia files in my home network. It's easy install and discoverable by my laptops and multimedia player.

A very convenient drive to archive photos, videos and pc backup

I'm a video archivist and need a lot of storage. These WB drives are great. I own 4 of them in 12TB and 8TB. WD makes good drives. I buy nothing else.

I replaced a Seagate with this sleek HDD. It is faced and never fails to show up on my Nvidia Shield like my Seagate did. Great buy and cheap as well.

This External HD is actually a high level Red NAS HD with a 256MB cache as same as Gold Enterprise Level HD. The competitions HDs are low level, low quality HDs

This is a great value for a drive - just what you need, no other gimmicks to get in the way of using it. Unlike the MyBook Series of drives, which have built-in hardware encryption that you can’t turn off (meaning if the drive case and usb board get messed up, your data is gone), the Easy Store drives don’t get in between you and your data - you can remove the drive from this case and use it in a different one (which I recommend because these cases seem to keep the drives at a way-to-hot-temperature) - ideally one with a fan for cooling.

Easy to use, compact nice exterior, adequate speed.

Have a dual-boot Win10 ' Linux PC - easily partitioned this large drive to accommodate both operating systems. Been working well (can hear it slightly when booting - then very quiet). If it keeps performing this way over the next few years, would raise the rating to 5 stars.

Low and behold, I bought 2 of these drives and they both contained the coveted WD Red labels with 256mb cache! There's an app you can run to tell you what model number drive is in it. WD80EFAX that's the magic model right there. I would not hesitate to buy it again for the price I paid.

This my second unit and I use this to back-up my office information. The unit is well built and a bit heavy giving a good standing weight. Also, cosmetically has a slick look being a good addition to the office desk environment.

The best TV ever and for the money. It fits the living room perfectly. It is clear, classy and always, has its presence. Very easy to connect and takes very little room. It is probably the best TV, in terms of size and value for money for the longest and forceable future. No regrets whatsoever.

I picked this up for a song when it went on sale for nearly 50% off. 8 TB is a great storage capacity and I'm quite pleased with this device.

I need to have this for copies of my precious music collection. Just what I needed. There is just not enough storage and if something goes wrong with my other two external hard drives, I have this to back up all my collection.
