Great external storage for the price. Easy to use and fast backup solution especially if you have USB 3.0 but backwards compatible. Will buy more of these external drives.

Works as intended. Xbox recognized the drive. Able to install and run games from external storage.

I have been blown away by the gigantic capacity and easy use of the WD 8TB external hard drive. It's like having your own server with capacity I can't imagine ever using up!

I've had this for two years now, and it's still working great. It's quiet enough that I don't hear it at all, and it's about two feet away from me.

So I needed a external HDD to store some pictures and other documents that was clogging my SSD drive up. I see this baby with 8TB of disk space and think "why not?" I unboxed it, plugged it into power, plugged the USB cable into the HDD and the other in to my USB 3.0 slot (make sure you plug it into the blue USB slot to get the full speed of USB 3.0). No mess, no fuss, it was off to the races. Took about 20 minutes to move a TB of info from my SSD to the USB, but some of the files were rather large. I found it faster moving the same amount of space, but with smaller files. Anyway so far so good.

Absolutely amazing. I have a 256gb usb I used to back up my files, which would take about ~25-30 minutes. I did the same thing with this, and it finished copying everything in about 1 minute.

Slow and basic backup. Used as Apple MacBook Time Machine.

I use this for storing video files. Plugged in in and was running immediately. Transfers quickly and can backup the computer to it also. Great deal

This came as a WD White Drive (Red with white label) for a lot less $$ than a WD Red from anywhere else. I've purchased about a dozen of these and none have had any issues!

another HDD to add to the server. great value on any of the Easystores, whether it's the 8TB or 10TB have worked flawlessly in our server

It’s amazing that you can get an 8 TB drive now for so cheap and it is fast for the size and what I’m using it for which is for a back up I’m really happy that I was able to get this when I got it thanks Best Buy

Sturdy and solid, and the drive operates as it should.

This drive which I got for the storage capabilities is phenomenal. The interface is simple, read/write is quick, the system is very responsive and with 8TB, plenty of storage for my movies and such. The internal drive alone is worth more than I paid for the entire unit. Awesome!

Upgraded to a larger hard drive, when a older one began to fail and was able to retrieve the data files and move to the new WD external USB with ease.
