I don't know how they work as external drives since I took them out of their enclosures to use in a server. As far as drive quality though, I've had no problems. Good price per terabyte.

It’s great for storing my digital media collection of about 5TB but I was intending to use it for a media hub on my Xbox One. For some reason, the device stops reading files on the drive on the console. They’re on the drive, but the Xbox One does not recognize them. I don’t know if it’s a problem with the console or the product itself, but it is a letdown.

I've seen some other 8tb hardrives go for alot more. Real simple to use. Plugged into ps4 and the ps4 asked to format external drive and I said ok. Easy as that. Took like 2 minutes.
