Excellent value-perfoms flawlessly-highly recommended-The WD quality at a great price that you can expect!!!

This was a great product to purchase. I've only owned it for a little over a month so far, but I intend to use it as a backup for my main back up drive that has everything on it when I upgrade my OS and have to switch from HFS+ to the new APFS. I've also edited some videos on Premiere with it so far and it's working perfectly well. Only thing so far is that sometimes it gets hung up if you put your computer to sleep with the drive mounted in Mac OS X 10.11.6 right now. I recommended this drive to everyone when I saw it on sale.

These external hard drives are great, affordable and reliable. I've purchased multiples already and they have been fantastic!

Loved the 4 TB ones so thought this would be great. Was so very fine until we moved and even though parked and protected in our personal items, we couldn't get it to be re installed after 4 hours with tech support.

Massive storage at a great price. Had my teenage daughter setup and transfer files from 3 iphones. Easy to use. Highly recommend it to everyone.

This is a great drive. I have been thrilled with it. I have noticed that the speeds copying to it aren't as high as I hoped, but I think that is more a function of the devices I am copying from rather than the drive itself. The only cautions I would give are that there is very little cushioning inside the case for the drive so be very cautious with it. If dropped or otherwise harmed, I think you might have the hard drive fail. Also, the drive gets very hot, so you must make sure that the vents around the drive are not blocked and the drive does not overheat...

I couldn't believe the amazing price on this when I saw it online! It's awesome in size and does just what it's meant to do! I'm so glad I got this.

8TB RED DRIVE, AMAZING PRICE! I couldn't believe the price for an 8TB RED drive (inside). So far it's been amazing 2-nd master backup of my raid.

This was a great purchase until I lost my computer to a motherboard failure a couple of months ago that will take a long time to replace during this cancer battle and no money for much now.

I use it to back up video files. It comes with a backup program so you can schedule your backups. I love the sleep mode in the drive which keeps it from running continuously. Highly recommended especially for large files backup and storage.

These units are great. They use the WD Red drives in them and they work wonderfully with my Ma Pro as a time machine and a secondary network drive.

After my last storage device died, I need one fast. After receiving the device, everything that was on the old drive was salvaged and put on the new one easily. With more space to add.

Awesome hard drive to PS5 extended storage. As of writing this on 12/22/2020 you can’t add to the internal SSD on the PS5 yet, so I purchased this hard drive to store and play literally all of my PS4 games on so I never have to worry about redownloading. I have about 6TB worth of PS4 games on it, and it works great playing games right from this on the PS5.

I needed an external hard disk for backup. This should do me for a while. Speed, capacity, and reliability have all been what I needed.

This is pretty much a plug and play unit for any recent Windows machine with USB 3.x, Linux folks will need to fuss about with Fuse and ntfs-3g - but it does work acceptably well. For us, this is our disaster recovery system - it sits on a laptop in an outbuilding, attaches to the main network via a 5 gHz link, and receives a daily backup. It's worked flawlessly for almost a month now and we trust that it will continue to protect us from fire, flood, tornadoes, and psychotic brother-in-laws.

Good performance, great value. Liked it so much I got the 12TB version when it came out a few months later.

I only purchased this drive for storage. However, it can be used for working projects if needed. I would not recommend 4K video editing from here. However, it is a great place to free up space and access as needed.

Bought this hard drive for a Christmas present for our brother and he is really enjoying it. He utilizes the gaming functions between the mouse and his other computer devices.
