Purchased this to replace a 4TB MyBook. The 8TB Easystore is more responsive and transfers files faster than the old MyBook. I'm very pleased with the 8TB Easystore drive.

It's good it works and it wasn't expensive. It's not super fast ... but I am used to using SSD's which are very fast.

I needed space, and alot more space, and this device provided the needs. It's no SSD, but if you consider how much a 80gb hard drive used to cost, This is a bargain you can't go wrong with.

Large Storage at a Reasonable Price When on Sale. Noise levels are reasonable, and I am happy with the transfer speeds .

No issues. Transfers at 120mb/s on 3.0 to sata. 60mb/s on network transfer. There is no reason not to have a backup of everything on your PC. 8tb is more than enough space for most people. Buy 2 because HDD's fail. Quality is average. Definitely not a drive you can drop. The drive inside is a standard HDD which you can take out of the shell. This will void the warranty but its cheaper than buying a standard drive of the same size.

Excellent value at $160. USB 3.0 and backward compatible. Have been very happy with past WD products. When on sale, grab this item.

I've bought about 20+ of these (yes, literally twenty or more drives) and they're incredible. Never had a single one fail. The drives are whisper quiet, small enough to throw into a corner, and makes it easy to head to your in-laws or parents and back up their data and haul it home for an offsite backup. I highly recommend these drives to ANYONE looking for some serious portable store. If you're like me you'll find yourself collecting these every time they go on sale.
