Easy to Plug in and immediately begin to back up files

Simple to set up, formatting is a breeze (using on Mac); plenty of capacity as a media drive/backup solution.

Works great so far. Large and pretty fast for a non-SSD. Working great for my server

I bought one about a year ago to use in my Plex server for storing media. After copying my files onto the external drive, I ended up shucking the internal drive and installing it into my machine directly. It's been running so well since then, I picked up another one a month or so ago again. Been a Western Digital user for over 20 years now, and they all have not let me down. It's not as fast as the 7200rpm drives, but is perfect for a high capacity storage drive!

With how big games are getting and libraries being very digital as well. This is extremely recommended for Xbox one and as well as X users with HDR patches!

It's 8TB, it's Western Digital and at a great price. No issues so far. This is my 3rd drive and all is good.

If you are just looking for raw storage when this is on sale for about 179-189 its one of the cheapest $/tb you can find on the market

Good for back-up and storage of files. With 8TB of space it will take a while to fill it up. USB 3.0 is nice and fast too.

Rarely utilize it other than transferring media backups to it. Not the fastest drive I ever used, but it's just storage so who even cares about speed?

I've had this for awhile now and it's been extremely reliable. It was super easy to start up and plug into my mac.

I actually shucked this drive to get the 8TB Red inside. It works perfectly, and was much cheaper than buying separately.

Great little self contained hard drive. Very quiet and hopefully lasts for a long time.

This device is good for storing massive data. I tried to use it for a backup for my movies and documents. However, it is very noisy and constantly writing something even though I am done copying file hours ago. If this item suits your needs, I would say go for it.

Couldn't pass up an great deal like this, a WD RED 8TB 3.5 7200RPM for $160 on sale.. its great.. took it home, ran a few scan to ensure the HDD integrity, everything checked out so now it houses my home movie/music collection, which is accessible on almost every device on the network with free universal media server running in the background on my Win10 laptop. Speed is decent, only connection is USB3.0 & gets transfers around 80MB-100MB/sec on a WD 1TB 2.5 SSHD FTW

Great hard drive with CRAZY amount of space. Bought for work and I could imagine this thing taking years to fill with documents and videos.

Great external hard drives, plug and play. they last forever. i suggest to check disk for errors and i reformat the drives at first as i had some problems with some of the other hard drives by not doing that. i have about 12 +- WD external Drives they are great. i stor everthing on them movies, pictures docs, music to save room off my pc hard drives and my other pcs laptops ssd drives.
