Bought this to back up my computer and I feel you get a real bang for your buck with this product. Smooth, simple, not to clunky, perfect for home use

These were on sale when I bought them. The price per TB was definitely better than anything else out there. I ended up pulling the drives out of the enclosures and added the bare drives into my home server. The RPMs are lower than I like to go but for the price I made an exception. And in all honesty in a simple over network transfer I don't see any lower speeds than my 7200 rpm drives. Longevity, we'll see. I have had them less than a month.

This is my 2nd portable HDD, but first of WD brand. The software was very easy to install, the setup was also easy. I was able to connect this to my laptop and transfer everything from my old drive to this new one. Then making the settings for the new HDD to backup my laptop files couldn't have been more straight forward. You can schedule a backup for whenever you want or manually do one when ever you feel like.

Great harddrive. Easy to set up and has lots of space on it. Would recommend to anyone.

I got this , cause I needed more space . It works fine . And functions ok I guess. I had smaller seagates before . And they were super fast . And took no long time for it to work , once running, it was fine ,but actually a tad noisy. I put it in a cabinet behind some stuff , a long ways away from me . Not sure , if I would buy another one . That’s kind of sad , cause , I have quite a few WD products , and they all work fine .

I love these drives! Very reliable, fast transfer speeds. I bought 2 a few months ago. One for backup of documents etc.and the other connected to my router for local document/media sharing. I have a 3rd from a few years ago that is still going strong. I use specifically for backup of my family’s laptop images. All 3 are 8tb and going strong!

It has the capacity I was looking for at a great price. So far it's performing very well.

This USB drive is not the first drive of this make and model for me. I purchased it again because past experience gave me confidence that the additional one would work as expected. It did. I did not give a durability rating since none of these drives have been in service with me long enough for a meaningful rating, yet. On the other hand, all drives continue operating without failure or difficulties - as expected.

Using as external drive for Playstation 4 (and 5, if I can ever find one at MSRP). Easy to install and transfer speeds are excellent.

decent value of storage for the $, the speed of the drive 5400 RPM so does not retrieve data as quickly but considering the amount of space and reliability of WD drives, it is a good buy.

It's doing the job. I appreciate the safety of knowing my data is backed up in case of a crash!

the internal storage have more value than the external. I bought two for my NAS. It's running smooth

I purchased this HDD as a means to backup my current PC contents. This WD Drive contains their WD software that you could use to backup as well. Works as intended and so far, so good.

This is an incredibly large hard drive - 8 terabytes. There is enough room to store everything you want to keep, music, pictures,videos, documents. Get an SSD for your operating system and one of these for your files and you'll have both speed and capacity for all those things you want to keep handy. It has a two year warranty as well. Great for backups too.

Worked out to be just what we needed for storage. Slim and sleek design nice addition to desk.

I waited until it was on sale and have only used it for two weeks. So far, so good. It is large enough to backup my mac and windows drives. Only time will tell, how long it will last.

2 years later, this is a favorite model and brand accompanied by high volume of storage. When computer has been idle or waking from sleep mode there is an access delay that is 5-10 seconds and this never bothered me because once it's been accessed it runs quickly as desired. I whole heartedly recommend this product.
