Would recommend it for this purpose but not as an external drive.. Too Slow for daily use.

I canceled that order and found this 8TB external drive at Best Buy for less money. Boy am I glad I did. Everything I needed came with it and I was up and running in seconds. It is quiet and fast and just sits out of the way and does its job. I highly recommend this drive.
