Great for storage & backups

I have a few of these external drives including passports, but I needed a main external drive for just about everything I have done. This big 8TB external drive is just what I needed for ample storage of video and music files. Works great with Mac as time machine backup ! Not a solid state drive but very affordable for the amount of storage.

Great Buy!

He is constantly writing papers and collecting research information and data. He wants to be able to access everything no matter where he is working from, and make sure he never loses any of his work. This external hard drive holds enough so that he will be able to use it for years and years.

Cheap storage when on sale

Surprisingly quiet for an HDD

It has been working pretty well for the past three weeks, writing peaks at about 180MB/s and reading peaks at about 190MB/s. One thing I like about it is that it's a lot quieter than the old one, I know because I put it on my desktop, about 15 inches away from my head.

Excellent External Drive for Home Use

The drive inside the one I purchased in April 2017 is a WD80EFZX which is the WD Red line. These drives are 5,400 RPM so they aren't extremely quick but they are good for home use especially when connected through USB 3.0.
