Brought on sale good deal for money. Easy to use and transfers are fast.

The Summary says it all. Moreover, you can take these out of the housings and use them as internal drives. We've bought several of them.

I bought this to update my ever growing library of data. With video games broaching on 90gb I knew I was in need of a hefty hdd and this one definitely fit the bill. It’s plug and play was a big decider in my purchase plus the price was right. I backed up my 2 terabyte hdd in a couple of hours so the transfer rate on this product is up there in my opinion. If you need something that’s fast, sleek, and affordable this is the external hard drive for you.

This thing is great and I love the size and price.

The internal drive (WD Red 256 cache) was utilized in upgrading TiVo Bolt to ~ 1480 HD hours. I selected drive manufactured in Thailand.

I already have one of these at home, so when I saw these were marked down during a flash sale I decided to get another one. WD hasn't let me down before, and it's very hard these days to find external storage that requires a power supply, which I prefer. Speeds are good and price per size on a sale is a very good deal.

Easily setup as backup drive for laptop. Quiet and works quickly.

It's a hard drive. I reformatted it to remove the WD crap and it works as designed.

So far works well, easy to connect and set up. Good value.

Exactly what I was looking for, an 8TB red drive in an enclosure.

Was easy to set up, and capacity is awesome, no problems to date.

I'm not sure if all external hard drives behave the same way but I have 3 Western Digital that goes to sleep too quickly. Other than that, no issues.

Turns out to be a WD Red drive and is very fast. Getting around 170MB read and write speeds.

I needed this for work - my current external drive was filling up and couldn't hold any more back-ups. I went big to be sure I wouldn't have to do this again for a while. This was easy to set up and now my computer back-ups have a new home. I always head for Western Digital for external drives. Have had really good luck with them.

It works as it should and it's not too noisy. Most of this brand of HDD enclosures have Western Digital Red drives in them which tend to be a lot more expensive without the enclosure because they're used in NAS setups. So they're very high quality drives considering a lot of companies put cheap drives in their enclosures which tend to fail rather quickly.

Perfect Capacity. Wait until a Sale that often happens. Wish it had an on and off switch.
