Easy to use at a great price

I was able to plug it in and start using it immediately. Don't bother with using any of the WD Smartware stuff that it comes with. You should be able to start dragging files back and forth right away. Using this on an old Windows 7 PC that was upgraded to Windows 10 last year.

A note to Mac users: my Mac suddenly told me that the contents were OK but that the Mac could not access them. Then I noticed the same message with my backup hard drive and with another HD. Pieces on the internet report that the issue seldom is with the hard drives and not to write them off. Someday soon I hope to get it all to work.

Good, Fast Hard Drive

We are using it with our Xbox 1S. It does have some noise, though - if you are looking for an ultra quiet hard drive, this may not be the droid you're looking for.
