Solid construction. Especially around the USB connector.....Have broken several of the USB connectors off of one the OTHER VENDORS drives in this range making the drive useless as it would cost more to repair than to break apart and salvage the drive. THIS DRIVE IS WELL BUILT and performs very well. (Have purchased several.)

I purchased this to replace an older Seagate drive that crashed. It works great. It does get a little warm when using and does seem to make a little noise but not as loud as some stated. Fast back up for a large amount of storage, and seems to be working fine for me. Have used for 1 month so far.

I shuck these to use in my NAS. They have white labels but perform like Reds. I've heard there are Thai and Vietnamese drives, the former with 256MB cache and the latter with 128MB, but out of the four I ordered all of mine were made in Thailand. They absolutely scream in a NAS, and at this price, and with the reliability of WD Reds, I can afford to void the warranty.

Great product just not so much compatible with IMac. It does not know when to turn back on after the computer sleeps. I always have to disconnect and connect back.

a huge space for storage. A good item for video , files and photos to save . you also can use it to duplicate your primary hard drive as a backup.

So far I have performed about 7TB of writes and used used this external drive daily doing both reading and writing. It's mostly filled up now. It has performed flawlessly and the performance seems good to me. No problems at all.

Was going to return it because the speed was really slow transferring files, but the computer I was transferring from was the culprit and once I was able to transfer to a faster computer it worked fine

Most of these drives are actually WD Red drives which are excellent drives. From what I've found you can tell if it's a red drive by the AC adapter I"m assuming this is because of the factory they come out of. if the plug is sideways then it is a red if it is regular it is not.
