I trust in Western Digital they alwalys give us quality products.

i use this as a complete backup of data and files from my pc and it's working well still after 2 years. it's much faster than the external hard drives that get powered only by the USB port. it's less portable but it's great for backing up large amounts of files in less time

The WD 8 TB external harddrive is great. I have a 6 TB and an 8 TB external harddrive, and I alternate between then when I back up a minimum of twice a week. Then I keep both of them in a safe in my kitchen. There are two kinds of people: those who backup regularly and those who wish they had backed up.

Just bought it because my computer hdd space is less. This external hdd helps me lot to carry my data to anywhere hasle free

I've been using WD hard drives for years. This hard drive had the white label drives and I shucked them to use in a 4 drive NAS. I also have two others still in the enclosures that I use for backing up the NAS system images. I'm waiting for these to go on sale again and use them for a DVR system I'm working on.

Big space for my files, pictures and videos, great price

Very nice unit. I'm not using it as a backup however, but instead for storing HD and 4K video which takes up an enormous amount of space on my other hard drives. Using this exclusively for my video frees up a lot of extra space on my smaller hard drives and computer hard drive. So far it works well and his fairly speedy.

8 tb external hard drive, super fast. Big enough for my videos and photos.

Great drive and price was awesome. Hooked right up to Xbox and can now download free gold games. If you have an Xbox you need an external drive. This one has to have its own power supply and that’s ok since it lives with the console. Took less than 5 minutes and this thing was in service and having new games downloaded to it.

Not only does this back up your computer drives, movies and music but will also play back on a usb DVD player. Great item.

Works. I have 2 of them on my Mac. Partitioned to use as time machine and for regular drive files. I have not noticed any sound from it like others have said.
