Got this for Time Machine backups on my iMac. Very easy to install and set up. Runs quiet. Seems really nice for the sale price.

Its straight to the point. Plug in and start using. Really fast, lots of storage. Perfect to backup tons of photos videos music etc.. love it

Couldn't have been easier to install. Plug it in and it takes care of everything. It puts easy to use software on your computer. You can tell it what to bsckup and how often. 8TB is tons of space.

Buy this drive if you have stagnant data that you want to move off your desktop but dont want to or cant delete yet. It's good for temporary migration of data since it us inexpensive. You can also crack it open for the hdd inside. Cheaper than a new 8TB cause its a refreshed drive. USB 3.0 is slow so expect to let it sit overnight if transfering large amounts of data. If speed is a requirement and price is not an issue, go solid state. Otherwise this is a good budget device.

I have about 10 of these ranging from 2 TB to 8 TB, and use them to store/backup RAW photos as well as processed images. They work well, store a ton, and I've never had one fail (knock on wood).

It was easy to connect and move files. A good bargain for the price. Would definitely recommend thus product.

Able to reach 165MB/s on continuous read and write on a USB 3.0 connection, these drives are incredibly fast for data archiving purpose or for adding storage to the Xbox One and PS4 family of consoles. Fanless, quiet, uses external power of 12v/2A (wall wart design does not obstruct bottom receptacle when plugged directly to an AC wall receptacle) and designed to stand vertically. You will risk overheating if you lay them down horizontally and then stack something on top of it, like another WD easystore, as there are no vents on the broad sides of the plastic housing. Model reviewed are for boxes labeled "DCM: MGBJRCK", are a Product of Thailand, and contain drive model WD80EFAX.

This drive blows me away with its speed and capacity. I use it for my Plex server on my Nvidia Shield for dvr purposes and this drive shines with its speed and ease of use. Highly recommended.

Does exactly what I need it for. Cold storage for 5 years of content that I need access to in the future.

This external backup harddrive works great for my business. It is easy to install and operate.

Was looking for cheap storage for movies and music from a reliable company. This connected easily to my router as a media hub for our home network. Works as expected and was an amazing price.

Great device. Comes with everything you need. Plenty of storage. Not the fastest drive out there but will do 110MB/s easy. Good bulk storage. Has a western digital red drive inside. Reliable.

Runs a little noisier than I’d like and shows scratches super easily, works nice for my purposes though. Doesn’t play nice with most blu ray players because the high capacity I assume.

Works well. Flawless so far. Easy to use. Nothing sexy or glamorous but works like it should. I just wish it would not come with the proprietary software which makes it a little more difficult to use than it needs to be.

This drives appear on a very low price every now and then. Great option if you shuck them (disassemble them) and use the internal drive for your NAS storage. Drive normally is a WD RED model.

This is my forth WD hard drive purchase for back up storage. I stuck with this brand for the last 5 years due to reliability and ease of software set up for locking and automatic back ups.

If you simply looking for a drive to manually transfer files from your computer to the drive for backup you should be okay. But if you want automatic backup and you are not tech oriented you are going to have a hard time getting this drive setup. It comes with NO user manual in the box. The tiny foldout pamphlet that is included (with print sop small I could barely read it with a 6X magnifier and my reading glasses) has a URL to a page that SUPPOSEDLY has a manual but it does NOT! A quick Google search turned up an online PDF manual that I downloaded. This was not much help however, because it had instructions for software that is supposed to be on the drive but is NOT! The manual tells you how to setup WD software but in reality you are going to be using Acronis True Image For Western Digital software. I had to jump through several hoops to figure out how to find it for download and then find a manual for using this software with this drive. Much more difficult and confusing than it needs to be. After several hours I finally got it all setup and it now runs my backup scheme on my schedule. And it does so in the background without slowing my PC down at all, so bonus points for that. Western Digital used to be a leader in the field of digital drives and storage but sadly this is not the case anymore. If you are looking for a simple drive to just manually backup files and folders there are cheaper alternatives out there. If you have more technical needs like automated backups on a schedule there are products out there that are easier to configure and won't cause you to have to make multiple Google searches to find everything you need. Sorry Western Digital, but I DO NOT RECOMMEND this product.

Great storage device. Was able to put 2 previous drives onto this one with plenty of room to spare. Plug and play.
