This is my Third 8TB Easy Store. I have 0 complaints. Cheap, and quiet and they help me increase my media collection. Best bargain around.

I needed a larger external for backup and wanted it to be a Western Digital - my most trusted brand. This drive looks nice, takes up little space, and was very easy to set up. With special holiday pricing, it was a great find!

I purchased this WD 8TB drive because of the vast amount of storage it offers, as well as the reliability which comes with Western Digital products. It's the ultimate storage solution for any PS4, Xbox One, or Steam Library.

I have a few of these drives, but they're not all of the easy store variety. And I have to admit this one, the "easystor" drive, is by far my favorite. It reads and writes faster than the other drives. For some reason it seems to utilize the USB 3 function better. And of course it has WD name so you know its reliable and dependable. If you're hesitant of buying this drive dont be. They're well worth their price, and you wont be dissatisfied!

This is my fifth 8TB Western Digital External and i must say i love it, granted it is not as flexible as my three 8TB Seagate externals with their dual USB hubs and build in wifi but then again the WD is also less expensive and from my past experiences, more reliable. I would rate performance fair to good, you can stream up to 10GB video without any lag or issues and most files copy in a reasonable rate of time. With that said, i would not recommend it for trying to play larger 4k video content as there seems to be a bit of lag, and even on a powerful system after 18 to 20 minutes in the audio can sometimes get off set from the video but i believe this to be more of a USB bus constraint than a drive output issue. Otherwise there is no reason to not buy as many of these as you need for back up and even extra storage space (just remember to set power settings to "power down drives that are not in use after 10 to 20 minutes) as this will keep them cooler and thus increase life expectancy. So let that drive power down if you aren't using it. Also great for off site backups. As a final though i compare this $159 8TB to my two 24TB NAS Boxes (which cost well over $1,200 EACH and i am reminded of what a great deal these 8TB & 10TB WD external drives are, so pick one or more up today and please enjoy and find me on Youtube at MiloHajek for more tech tips and other updates on all kinds of tech.

Easy to use, and fast. Great deal. More than enough storage. Had fotos from 2003 to 2022 and still plenty more storage space.

I already know WD Easystore, and it is a reliable hard drive. Four years ago, I bought one of eight 8TB for all my photos and have had no issues. Now, this new 8TB drive will back up all my videos and music files. Great product.

Allows for FAST, easy and reliable backups. Works like a charm.

Works as it should. Quiet, spacious, includes power cable and usb cable. Setup literally takes about 45 seconds from opening the box to hooked up and done

As a novice user, the storage size and sale price is hard to beat. The drive has been used often in our home without any disconnection glitches or lost files. Also, the drive will quietly hum while operating (but not loudly), and may run slightly warm; never hot. True to it's name, it is very "easystore" and files transfer fast. For portability, it's sized like a wide and thick paperback book. As long as your bag is sturdily padded on all sides (e.g. SLR camera bag), you're good to go.

I bought this for my Xbox One for extra storage. Very easy to use. Basically plug and play after Xbox formats the drive. Does not get hot if idle for a while.

Purchased the product when it went on sale. Definitely worth a buy for backups and saving files away from your computer. It comes formatted for Windows, but requires reformatting for MAC OS use. It went on sale for $129.99 the week before Black Friday, but I was unable to get it since it sold out. Luckily, it went on sale during the winter break sale for $139.99 and purchased right away. It comes with some Western Digital software in the hard drive. If you use hard drive software such as Crystal Disk Info, you can find the serial number and search the type of drive. It is true that these drives are red WD NAS drives. For the price it is worth it since the bare desktop drives cost more. I may consider purchasing another one when it goes on sale again since it is a large amount of space. It uses USB 3.0 and an AC adapter. It has vents on the top, bottom, and back for releasing heat. The only main issue with this external drive is the dissipation of heat. There isn't a fan, therefore, the drive can get pretty hot after long use. Just use hard drive software to monitor the heat. Also when laying down the hard drive, make sure the usb and power connections are in the direction away or top side (left) away from the surface it is laying on since the hard drive sits close to one side of the case and kind of hangs since one side of the drive seems to be only secured, which is the connection side.

Picked up the drive on a black friday sale price of $150 and was pleasantly surprised to find a Red NAS drive inside (typically costs around $250). Added it to my storage array and is humming along happily.

I bought this 8tb WD external hard drive and couldn't be happier. I already own the 3tb and 4 tb. The set up is seamless with great reliability and is perfect if you need more memory as I buy games digitally.

This does an excellent job storing my excess videos.

Great for in-house archives, got it for old photographs, and stuff I don't want to keep in my to-go computer. great value for the price.

Still running nicely over a year later. I got this for backing up dashcam footage. One of the features I really like is the auto power down when inactive.
