Just bought it because my computer hdd space is less. This external hdd helps me lot to carry my data to anywhere hasle free

Big space for my files, pictures and videos, great price

This restores my faith in WD external drives. Although my old WD My Book 8TB was hot and noisy, I decided to take a chance when the easystore went on sale. Luckily, it is everything I want - cool, quiet and backs up my system smoothly. I also like its sleek lines. The two-toned look of My Book is just not for me. I withhold the fifth star because the easystore doesn't have WD Security (password protection with hardware encryption). It doesn't matter to me, but others may want that feature.

Contains a top of the line NAS hard drive which I have connected to a Media PC to store all our mkv/mp4's. Working great for several months. Able to saturate a gigabit LAN no problem. Is quiet but does have a periodic "tick" as others have said. Probably not good for a bedroom PC if you leave it on while trying to sleep.

Very nice unit. I'm not using it as a backup however, but instead for storing HD and 4K video which takes up an enormous amount of space on my other hard drives. Using this exclusively for my video frees up a lot of extra space on my smaller hard drives and computer hard drive. So far it works well and his fairly speedy.

I've been using WD hard drives for years. This hard drive had the white label drives and I shucked them to use in a 4 drive NAS. I also have two others still in the enclosures that I use for backing up the NAS system images. I'm waiting for these to go on sale again and use them for a DVR system I'm working on.

The WD 8 TB external harddrive is great. I have a 6 TB and an 8 TB external harddrive, and I alternate between then when I back up a minimum of twice a week. Then I keep both of them in a safe in my kitchen. There are two kinds of people: those who backup regularly and those who wish they had backed up.

Great drive and price was awesome. Hooked right up to Xbox and can now download free gold games. If you have an Xbox you need an external drive. This one has to have its own power supply and that’s ok since it lives with the console. Took less than 5 minutes and this thing was in service and having new games downloaded to it.

My family and I always take a lot of pictures and videos. We used many flash drives to save all our memories, but our problem got solved when we bought this hard drive. Now we feel free to still taking more pictures and videos, and not to worry about the space in our devices.

Not only does this back up your computer drives, movies and music but will also play back on a usb DVD player. Great item.

This external hard drive is pretty cool as it includes a RED drive. Its Western Digitals NAS drive with would last for a very long time. I wish they had the 5-Year Warranty but I guess as long as it works, you won't need it. Also, WD needs to start switching to USBC.

i use this as a complete backup of data and files from my pc and it's working well still after 2 years. it's much faster than the external hard drives that get powered only by the USB port. it's less portable but it's great for backing up large amounts of files in less time

The WD external drive is great for my grandson's gaming files.

This price it is a great TB/dollar deal and best disk.

Bought this hard drive to consolidate all of my files to one place and so far it has worked just fine. Fast and Reliable!

It was easy to set up and has decent speed. Write speeds are @ 100-125 MB/s with large file writes. The packaging is great. My only complaint about this particular model of drive is it seems to be somewhat warm, and there’s no fan in the drive for cooling. It’s still recommended at the price I got it ($150).
