My last couple of hard drives have been from Seagate because WD has let me down before but the price was too good to pass up. This product was extremely easy to use and faster than expected.

Great external drives, fast, quiet, low power usage.

Tons of backup space for photos and music and whatever. Plus, and more importantly, it's fast. I've run it as a network drive and as a USB drive directly attached to a PC. In both configurations, I get good read and write speeds. 8 TB is a lot of space. Can't beat it for speed and storage.

Using attached to my router for storing videos and music for Plex and Kodi. Purchased on sale for $130. Good bargain at that price. I was reaching the limit of the 4TB version, This should give some breathing room. I've had it online for about a month with no problems.

This was the first one I bought for my son. He already owned one. Bought another one in 2020. He shoots and edits a lot of video so needs a large amount of storage space. He's happy with the three that he owns.

Just needed to upgrade my memory from 4TB. WD has always been a good product and this is no different.

I have several of these. They're reliable. This one is particularly high capacity. The only downsides are its physical size and the fact that it requires an external power source. I prefer drives that are USB powered. It works great though.

Bought a bunch of these drives for a really good price. Was able to pull from the enclosure and put them in a NAS enclosure. They were ALL Western Digital Red Drives 5400RPM with 256MB Cache.

I was actually looking for an internal hard drive when I stumbled on this. I did research and found that I was able to shuck it (open the plastic shell) and get a brand new 8tb hard drive. I believe I purchased this item for $150 and it is one of the best storage per dollar I have invested.

Great amount of storage for the price. I use it as a back up drive and have not had any issues

Bought this to replacing an internal drive that was failing. Can be a pain to open the case, but once shucked easily goes into your pc

... at a very reasonable price. Does not have the security features the other two WD external drive series have, but that was not a critical factor for me. I’m very pleased with the drive.

Not sure what to say. It does exactly what it claims, with no issues and no fuss. No reason to worry.

Very fast drive when connected to a USB 3.0.. Very easy to setup and use. Very quite when being used.

This 8TB is what I needed for me backing up my files.

Got it when it went on sale. It's a keeper. Hopefully by the time I run out of space again a 16TB will be out and at the same price as this one

Worth it for the price. Connected up to my Xbox with no problems.

This is my 2nd purchase and so far I'm loving it , the speeds are accurate, the design could of been better, it's not loud , this is my 37th hard drive so I'm pretty addictive to storage.

I was able to easily disassemble and remove the drive so I could install it as an internal drive on my desktop. Much cheaper than buying the same hard drive as a bare drive.

Bought this HD on sale for $160 to store movies for a media server. Confirmed a WD80EFAX in a Made In Thailand unit, 7SGX9***. For those that don't know, that is a WD Red 8TB that usually runs for $260 put in an external HD package. Bought this unit off the shelf 02/18/2018. Great buy.
