I kept researching this drive but never pulled the trigger on buying it until it went on sale. Keep an eye out, because this drive goes on sale quite often and 8tb for under $150 in a USB 3 enclosure is a great deal for your storage needs.

Large size, can save tons of files and have been reliable so far.

Good and stable. Although, I'm not a big fan for the auto check sound, is it bearable.

This external drive is a good GB to retail price purchase. Overall, it works great. The only con it has is that it gets hot. I had to cool it down by placing a laptop cooling fan under it. Other than this, it has no other drawbacks to it. If I ever have a need for more space, I would purchase another WD Easystore external drive again.

This is my 2nd 8tb WD Easy Store usb 3.0 external hard drive. First one I connected to my XBOX to save game info and extras on to it. This one will be for my desktop to save music, pictures, videos, etc. Very happy with purchase !

At 8 TB there is plenty of room here to back up photos, movies, music, and any other files deemed important. Can be used on Windows, Mac, or Linux systems. Easy to shuck too if you want an affordable 8 TB drive for a NAS.

I use this for a back up and store all my files so I have more memory on my computer

I had to buy a larger hard drive to consolidate my family photos that where spread over multiple hard drives. The sale price on the drive was perfect timing. I have had very good experience with western digital hard drives.

It is very small and compact. Although it is USB 3.0 my machine takes longer to fetch data from this drive than it does my 12 year old Iomega 1TB external drive. This is the first 8TB drive I have ever owned our used so I do not have anything to compare it to. I suspect all extra large drives move quite a bit more slowly in Window File Explorer.

It was very easy to setup. It took a while to copy all 3 internal drives. It also showed some files not copied. Called WD and they quickly told me some operating system files will not copy. They sent me a list of those file. Great service from WD

Purchase, shuck, repeat. The HDD included was a WD White Label. Not a problem for me. Much cheaper than purchasing a WD Red at same density from other vendors. Works well in a NAS enclosure after shucking the drive out of the external enclosure.

I've used this several times to backup most of the data on my LAN. The unit worked without a problem, was not load and didn't become hot. Very happy with the result.

This is truly a great hard drive from Westgate. I currently have three of them. I’ve got the 1st one now over a year and half. It’s been running I’d say every single day since I got it and it works perfectly

I bought this just in time. My 2 TB internal hard drive was almost full and was on its last leg. I bought this huge external hard drive and was able to transfer all my iTunes music and movies. Won’t be running out of storage for a very long time

A great price point for an 8gb hard drive. I use this to archive my files. I don't know how well it works as an external. I took it a part and used it as an internal sata drive. It was cheaper to buy it this way, and I got an extra USB cable.

These went on sale for $160 that means you can have a terabyte of space for only $20 dollars. If someone had told me that 5 years ago I would of laughed at them. When on sale these drives are a steal definitely pay attention to B.B. sales and grab when you can.

Good amount of storage and it's reasonably quick. The software installs quickly (if you have an interest in using it, there's not a requirement to do so) and lets you run back ups, update firmware, etc. I bought 4 and I'm very happy with the value of them.
