This is my forth WD hard drive purchase for back up storage. I stuck with this brand for the last 5 years due to reliability and ease of software set up for locking and automatic back ups.

I am just waiting for its arrival. I want to redo everything I had before including gamrs

Have 3 of these. No problems so far, been about 2 monthes on time. 3rd drive is for backup of music on my server. Would recommend for sure.

Decent external drive. Bought one last year and had no issue. Quiet and cool even under heavy load. Drive actually spins at 7200 despite being a 5400 class drive, so if you shuck for NAS use, it will run a little hotter and suck more power

Use it as a back up on my computer so that I can retrieve data if I want to load it on another computer. Has its own software that has to be loaded to access the hard drive info.

This is a huge external hard drive at a great price. 8 terabytes is a ridiculous amount of storage (to me, at least). I've only had it for a couple months, but it seems reliable.

Massive storage for games, photos, files, and back ups...I ALWAYS back everything up...works well for the purpose that I bought it for ...and they've gotten much less expensive over the years...ALWAYS a plus+++ and it's WD

I bought this drive because I heard that there was a WD Red drive inside. Long and behold there was. The drive is really quiet but it gets hot when under load. I would recommend putting a fan over it. Plus, you'll need to reconfigure it so that it doesn't go into sleep mode so frequently.

Great product. Easy to set up and use. I am a photographer and need large storage for pictures. This easily solves the problem!

This provides the extra storage I need and saved me from needing to purchase a new computer. It was extremely easy to set up.

Working well. Backups run without fail. Size makes placement easy, but runs a little warm so ventilation must be considered.

Easy to use, shuckable if you're interested. Some in a NAS, all have run great as long-term drives.

Great buy for the price. It was easy to set up, and easy to use. I think the AC power is the only thing they should do away with. If it is supposedly portable; Why isn't it just a plug and play without having to seek a outlet??? This would be a total "Best BUy" if you didn't need an outlet, but I gave it 5 stars anyway.

I have lost everything in my computer in the past and I did want to pay for more cloud storage. I consulted with my brother that one of the geeks at Best Buy. And we decided this would work for what I wanted. And it has. I have my music, pictures spreadsheets and back on this drive and there is still more room. it is compact and if I didnt tell you it was there, you wouldn't know

Great unit for storing thousands of videos and photos. Good price too. Even cheaper with my 10% member's birthday reward!
