Inside is a Western Digital Red Enterprise hard drive. I bought one on sale over the holidays and it was about half the price of the comparable drive without the enclosure. I don't leave it powered on all the time. I primarily use it I for redundant backups.

Got this when it's on sale. Fast shipping and very cheap considering its capacity.

I had to back up a 4 Drive Raid array to reuse those drives in a WD NAS Raid array. (Plex server). So I needed 16TB's above what I already had in hand to back up. All went well. These will probably be plugged in to the new NAS as USB additional drives.

Hopefully you grabbed one of these door busters was great deal on very large drive.

Very quiet external hard drive and seems to run quite cool despite the enclosure not having an internal fan. Since it is a Western Digital product, the WD freeware version of TruImage software works with it!

This external hard drive is easy to set up and start using. It has quiet operation.

works great as expected. Took a bit of work to get formatted correctly for Mac & PC (exFat). but just needed to download quick formatting tool from WD and was all set. Support was great in helping out as well. Bought a second one that formatted without issue.

The easystore 8TB hard drive is a fast hard drive reaching 170MB/s when writing data to the disk. It's ideal to store large files such as 4K video files made by cameras or large photo files. The hard drive is plug and play so it's ready to go out of the box.

I bought this for my expanding digital movie collection. This HDD is easy to use. It was plug and play straight from the box. Its high capacity and ease of use make this a great expansion drive. Catching it on sale was also great.

I purchased this for my wife to replace the 3 TB drive that she uses to back up her documents. Not only did I increase her backup storage, she no longer complains about how slow her backups are. She is really happy with the speed of the drive.

I was looking to purchase this for very large seismic data sets. I was prepared to buy one for its value and dependability but then realized it was on sale so I doubled down and bought two. Great product for those with large data swapping and back-up needs.

Western Digital drives are usually quality stuff. Too early to tell on quality, but the GB / $ on this unit is fantastic.

What a great deal this was for 8 TB! I should have bought 2 of these . Now I have more than enough disk space for storage and my desktop runs much faster. Easy setup ...plug and play. I highly be recommend it.

Not bad. I have all my pictures on it. Something it takes a while to refresh & slows down. But it does what I need.

I bought this WD Easystore External Hardrive to move data off of my laptop and desktop. It is easy to use and is well built. Just plug it in and drag and drop your files!

Excellent drive. Absolutely no problems at all. Works great right out of the box.

Very good product. With USB 3.0 the write speed is adequate for an external drive. My only issue and reason for not giving 5 stars is that no matter what I do, no matter what settings I change, the drive is constantly going to sleep. It seems to be more related to Windows 10 than to the drive, as it doesn't do this with my Linux machine.

Very good capacity, no issues during initial hook-up, used as a back-up to files, movies, and pictures.

8TB for the price of 4TB (or 6), best value for money if you don't mind the old design
