Initially purchased this harddrive for my television so that I can watch downloaded movie. However the television does not support the size so now ots used for external harddrive to back up my computer. Love it.

Excellent product working perfect so fast a little bit noisy but everything fine

Very quick and quiet. Download rate much faster that the previous Seagate I had.

good quality drive, simple setup. included software was junk but easy to remove.

High capacity, fast, reliable drive. One user wrote about possible overheat issue. Mine did not over heat, but I added a small fan at lowest speed to the location where 4 external HDs are located, and all of them feels quite cool.

I own several Western Digital drives. This 8TB high capacity model was reasonably priced and worth the investment. Plugged in and started backing up multiple drives with business info immediately using Time Machine on my MacBook Pro. Highly recommend!

After 2 years of intermittent use (used mostly as a backup device for main system drives), no problems to report. Device worked nicely out of the box and continues to work flawlessly and as expected.

This is a good solution for backing up a computer or adding on for HTPC. Easy plug and play with lots of head room for a small library. Schedule automatic backup for important data.

I own a bunch of these, and they have been extremely reliable. I use them for Various things, Backup's and Storage, Extra storage for my PLEX Media Server and even Extra Storage for my Xbox One X and PS4 Pro.

I am using this as just a backup of my data and it does what I wanted it for. I can store all of my data and still have plenty of room. When I was transferring data to the storage, I was getting around 30 to 50MB so it wasn't that fast, but good enough.

Great Device for you stationed needs. Archieves tons of things and room to spare. If you have this hooked up to your network, it can be a network storage device and data server.

Was starting to get my 4tb full, this is a great upgrade since it took a couple of years to fill the 4tb version of this hard drive, so it will probably take a couple more years to fill this one, by then the next version or 2 will be out to reupgrade.

These are great for my server and they seem for work without any issues. Inside they are all WD-white drives but they used to be WD-red. Other than the red/white label the only difference I can tell is the white drives have a bigger cache.

When it comes to reliable and long-lasting storage, you can count on WD. I don't work for them, but have always used drives from WD - for reliability they are king. My data is too valuable to trust some of the other brands on the market.

I transferred all my files from my old external device to this device and the process was quick. This device can handle my thousands of raw files pictures. It also stores my back up files. No issues so far.

My husband needed this to expand the space on his ps4 and it works like a charm

The Western Digital EasyStore 8TB external drive is a great external drive. Inside is a Western Digital Red 8TB drive. If you are looking for an extremely FAST drive, this may not be the best choice, as it is a 5200 RPM drive. However, At this price it is a great TB/dollar deal and the enclosure is solid. There is no fan to cool the drive, but as it is a Red drive and 5200RPM it does not get that hot.

These are excellent hard drives, using nas grade hard drives within the enclosures, I have purchased 11 of these over the last couple of years, and every single one of them is rock solid, 100% health with zero bad clusters visible to SMART

After using this external hard disk for 2 years, I can tell you that everything works fine. In fact, I brought 2 more of the WD EasyStore external hard disk and still loving it. Reliable, fast and ... just work.
