Attached the drive via USB 3 to my video workstation to use an archive for finished video projects. Frees up space on my SSD internal drives. Could be faster for transferring, but I'm working with 20-100GB sets of files per project.

These are great drives especially when you can catch them on sale for $149. Certain ones come with WD red NAS drives inside that cost more without the enclosure. You’ll need to google it to find the info. Overall it should be a large dependable drive.

This 8 TB is so easy to use. It shows up immediately on your computer. Very fast transfer as it's a USB 3.0. That's probably my favorite part, I had 6 TB with of stuff and it transferred fast. I didn't lose any files or had any problems.

This device loaded up with no set up and took all my games without hesitation.

Competitively priced 8TB external drive when on sale. I tested it within the enclosure for a week to make sure it worked. Then shucked it and installed it in my NAS and has been running with no problems since. I mainly use it for MKV movie storage. I use a different PC for ripping my movies and then transfer them to this drive and I consistently get 160MBs transfer speed, I have a 10Gb network between the 2 PCs and the originating drive is SSD. I also have a Seagate 8TB in the NAS which was shucked from an external Seagate enclosure and it runs just a little slower. **Be aware of the 3.3 voltage pin (PWDIS) on this drive when it is shucked, it is a fairly easy fix if you have an older PC. https://www.google.com/search?q=sata+3.3+volt+pin&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8 ,,, or just do a search for 3.3 volt SATA pin

Because it is USB 3.0, it copies faster than I thought. Great size for backups.

used to be cheaper, and better drive till a year ago. they keep changing what drive is used.

Excellent for the price. It is very conveniento add extra storage to your computer or console. A little big to travel with it, but for extra storage it is perfect.

This review is as an external drive for my Xbox. I have used seagate drives in the past with no issues. Saw this drive on sale and picked it up for a little extra room. Did not want to stay connected to the Xbox. Swapped it with my old 4tb seagate drive and no issues. First wester digital drive and very disappointed.

I needed an external drive to store all my games and content for my Xbox One X. This does the job well and gives me a lot of space to grow into. I have a 4TB external HDD on another Xbox One S, and that one is getting low on available space.

Worked exactly as I hoped it would; 1/2 off the price convinced me to buy it.

These drives when on sale represent a great value and are high quality drives!

This was no problem to hookup to my Mac. Just quickly reformat it using the Mac Disk Utility and it was ready to go. Very quick Time Machine backup using the USB 3 connection. This is probably bigger than I need, but it the price was too good to pass up.

This is the cheapest 8tb drive you can buy. Comes with a very good WD Red HDD

I bought this to replace a failed Seagate 8 TB external drive and so far it's working well. Wish I had gone ahead and purchased 2 since it was on sale! Time will tell whether this one outlasts the Seagate.

I haven't used this yet, but will be used as storage for all our pictures and videos to have them all in one place.

This is my second external storage purchase. I have one for both of my kids gaming systems. This holds much more than the system makers offer and the cost is way lower. You won't go wrong purchasing this item.
