Haven't used WD products in some time - this unit worked right out of the box and over a month later is still functioning as it should. I purchased this on sale and it was a very good bargain. Works great with my Windows 10 machine

Has loads of storage and easy to use. Just plug and play.

This is an awesome addition to our gaming equipment. There are several teenagers using our various game systems so this device allows them to save their games without having delete anything from the current game systems. We love it.

I have a bunch of these drives. I use them as mobile resources, back-ups, and gifts. I back up my entire laptop data in the 8T storage capacity. They hold lots of movies. I highly recommend going for the big one. You can always grow into it.

Got 2 of these on the 'usual' discount. Haven't checked which drive is enclosed but I'm not worried. Once I get 2 more I can start my unRAID or similar, till then though it'll sit as and serve as my media storage.

It's big (8TB). It runs (ticking and spinning drive sounds). It stores data (my backups). It works with my computer (Late iMac 2012). It's been running for a while (5 months). It's nothing special, but it just works. Get it!

Worked as advertised; plugged it in; connected to the Laptop; worked.

I am replacing a 2TB version of the same drive that I have been very happy with. This much capacity for the cost will allow me to add many custom backups in addition to the regular backups that use this drive. Impressive.

Did my research on the internet and honestly was looking for a harddrive backup for my xbox....this was the best value for the size you got and I've got a lot of games lol Quick curbside service.

Got this for a great price during Black Friday sale! 8GB feels like you can store anything and everything! I like the speed and the brand. Like with any hard drives, it's important to handle them delicate so as to not lose data.

I like the smaller footprint, the large amount of storage, and the fast USB 3 speed, but just so would-be buyers know, usable space is 7.27 TB not 8. Identifying it as 8TB is somewhat stretching it. I would buy it again though.

Seamless storage addition, ideal for archiving and backups. The 8tb of space holds quite a lot of data. WD software makes it easy to tweak things, such as turning off indicator lights.

I use this hard drive for, as far as you know, legally storing movie files that I paid for through a legitimate file-sharing medium, such as - but not necessarily - iTunes. It's a hard drive, so what else is there to say?

Requires power, expect to take up an outlet. Easy to use right out of the box. Great capacity, fast data transfer. Using mine as extended storage for PS4. Games play without issue, frees up my ps4 drive with plenty of room to spare

Bought this during one day sale for $129 to use for my Xbox, works great so far. Only had it a week so who knows how long it will last. Could last 3 weeks, 3 months or 3 years, as with all hard drives only time will tell.

Better speeds than my older WD drive. Great drive. Would buy again.
