Heres a little something....inside of these enclosures you'll find WD RED drives which are of a very high pedigree. Suffice to say these drives are built like a tank and will provide years of service.

WD white drive inside.

Installed it in my desktop for additional storage. It wasn't the red drive but the white. Works great.

Consistently Great Western Digital Drive working

I will use Acronix to make auto backups of my two WD drives on my pc. I have an older 1TB WD NAS and that is too complex. This one is a simple, external drive that shows up on my folder index in Windows Explorer. It is also USB 3.0 which is very fast.

Sooooo Much Space

For a backup drive or media-NAS, the price per TB and quality is the best in the range. I have 2 of these and they are reliable.

Good price point on sale

The size of 8TB was one of the requirements I had and they were out of the "my cloud" versions in that. Looking back now, I wish I would have waited only because I think I would have preferred to back up through my wifi instead of having to manually connect to each device with a USB. Other than that I have no complaints.

Good option with Time Machine

It did the first backup and then stopped. After erasing it, it now is working as expected. Plenty of storage and a good price.

An external hard drive, in my opinion, is a must, and with this 8 TB it solved all my storage problems.

Fast Realiable Storage

I was able to backup several smaller drives to this one quickly and easily. As with any file archive, always keep at least 2 copies.
