Great WD Red Drive But Requires Configuration

The drive is really quiet but it gets hot when under load. I would recommend putting a fan over it. Plus, you'll need to reconfigure it so that it doesn't go into sleep mode so frequently.

What's not to like ...

I'd been reading about these particular external hard drives on reddit and how versatile they were. They are easily stackable if needed. These are such a bargain and hold everything I need.

The drive is quiet and doesn't take much desk space. This drive requires a separate power connection unlike some external drives which are powered through the USB cable. Cons: The included USB cable is fairly short (only about 3 foot long). The hard drive speed (5400rpm) causes it to take some time to store a large file.
