This hard drive is awesome for what I need it for. I use it for a hard drive for my Xbox one and it gives me plenty of space for all of my games.

Worst experience and purchase ever! Used once to upload pictures and after that it stopped working. I’ve tried everything they recommended, At first, I even bought a new laptop thinking my old one had an outdated software and that was the problem. Now WD is not responsible for the data recovery I’ve to pay to certain companies designated by WD in order to claim the warranty on the external storage device. Here is the worst… data recovery estimates goes from 700 to 1,500 depending on the complexity could go even higher. I’m not only loosing what I spent on WD piece of garbage, I lost the data or I’ve to spend a great amount of money because their product don’t do what it’s meant to do!

I connected this to my router to provide network storage to backup my devices and stream media including movies. It works great.

Great value on this drive. I pulled the drive out and used it as an internal because it was so much cheaper than an equivalent internal drive.

What really sold me on this backup drive was that it contained WD Red Drives. I got one in Dec. 2016 and I was so pleased I got 2 more this year.

So glad to purchase this 8tb storage device. I am hoping to have tons of storage. With all the pictures that I take, this is going to be perfect!

Primarily to use as backup storage. Included apps are great value in themselves. Be careful with older systems though - may have to partition it.

Hesitant to buy a Western Digital drive, as my previous ones died prematurely (over 10 yrs ago). Read reviews and people seem ok with them, so I got the 8TB Easystore desktop hard drive. So far, knock on wood, the drive has performed flawlessly, but it's only been a month. It seems a bit faster than my other 5400 RPM drives, it's quiet and makes little noise when accessing the disk. I reformatted and partitioned it on my iMac. Other people said the drive ran hot, but mine has not, even leaving it on for a couple of days straight. I plan to use it to back up my photo files, so it will not be on all the time once I finish copying everything over to it (about 6TB of files). I wish they'd put the prongs on the power supply facing the other way, because it blocks two spaces on my power strip. I also don't like the lack of an on-off switch.

My 3rd western digital hard drive. I have almost 20 years of digital pictures and they eat up space. Have never had any problems.

Great for external or shuck the case and put it internal. Does the job of holding my video files.

I bought this because I was running out of space. I am a big fan of Western Digital products and expect to get years out of this drive.

Western Digital drives have never let me down so as a result I don't purchase anything else. Performance and reliability are top notch.
