Great simple external HDD

It's ok for backups.

Have to use the WD HD utility to turn this feature off. Annoying to say the least. Due to USB version 3.3 I believe, found information elsewhere on the web about how to disable this if one were to shuck this drive. As any other drive, it will eventually slow down as one starts to fill it above 75%. Also it will get HOT over time, that is why they probably shut it down so often. It's too bad we cannot control the rotational speed, to reduce it to 5400 from 7200 should keep it cooler.

A ton of storage!
