Needed USB 3.0 for Storage extension for my Son's PS4. This is working like a charm,

Customer support, which you WILL NEED, from WD is simply awful. It's a labyrinth of requests for documentation. Case files are assigned to new people/bots with every exchange. On the item side: the drive randomly fails. Specifically: without warning it will "decide" that it is read-only. You will loose work. You will have corrupted files. Re-mounting, unplugging, rebooting - if you like all of that, then by all means, this noisy turtle of an external drive is for you. If you want stability and reliability: go elsewhere.

Serves my need quietly. What more can be asked? Easy to find.

Great for additional storage. The cables are a little short so get a longer one if your a normal person and have you ex-drive located more than a foot from the computer

Great for external or shuck the case and put it internal. Does the job of holding my video files.

I own 3 of these. 1 for my PS4, 1 for Xbox One and 1 for my IMac, all have preformed well without any issue.

I've used quite a few of WD external hard drives over the years. No issues ever. Simple to install and utilize. Highly recommended.

Attached to our Xbox One and handles everything we can throw at it. No slowdowns noticed from the drive.

Drive will shut itself off after a short period of time being unused. Have to use the WD HD utility to turn this feature off. Annoying to say the least. Due to USB version 3.3 I believe, found information elsewhere on the web about how to disable this if one were to shuck this drive. As any other drive, it will eventually slow down as one starts to fill it above 75%. Also it will get HOT over time, that is why they probably shut it down so often. It's too bad we cannot control the rotational speed, to reduce it to 5400 from 7200 should keep it cooler.

Robust and quick in Sequencing Backup material... Heat may be an issue, but with proper due diligence and ventilation, all has been fine!

This was a great purchase. I take thousands of pictures with my D850 and this is perfect for mass storage.

8 TB of storage. I've been using Western Digital drives for over 20 years and they are always of high quality.

Backing up a server to this drive daily. It's been stable and fast for a few month. Normally I have good luck with Western Digital drives.

Bought this as a backup for my plex server media. Hasnt failed me yet and has plenty of space.

I have had no problems with this. It backs up the computer we connected it as we expected it to. We haven't had to retrieve anything from it so I am giving it only 4 starts. I will update this if we every have to use it for anything else.

I use the drive to back up media files. So far it’s been working great. It does seem to start up even when the drive is not being accessed, but that would be my only complaint. It’s nice and cheap for the amount of storage you get!
