The Xbox one needed more room for games this has been a great addition. Does what we need it to do

Picked this up when it was pretty wickedly on sale, after learning that inside these externals is a WD Red drive, meaning that I basically got an 8TB Red for much less than MSRP on those drives. I have it as a 4TB Time Machine and 4TB "extra storage" drive. No complaints.

I use for backup my stuff, the only point it's the transfer speed but for the price Great Product

When I want a backup drive that will not die out, I select Western Digital. Reds are always good.

Good large-capacity storage unit that allows for transport when necessary but not easily lost.

I bought this hard drive for backup purposes not to run day-to-day. I understand it's a green drive in the enclosure so I don't plan on running this every day. My intentions for this drive are two backup my computer system every month or so then store the drive off site.

Works well, software is good, no complaints. Schedule is great and once the initial back up is done, scheduled ones are fast. FYI I was backing up about 5TB as the initial back up and it took about a day. From my understanding, that is normal for the amount I was backing up.

This is a workhorse. Using it as a video server for my Plex library. I do not typically see any buffering times when viewing remotely. I have owned many WD drives and have never had any complaints with the quality or value.

Great buy, for the price. I use it to back up my laptop and t sore large files, MP# MP4, etc.., highly recommend this for anyone looking for a second hard drive. It's fast and easy to set up.

Great sale for a great fast drive. Wished it had Thunderbolt, but USB 3.0 is fast as well.

do note that you will need seperate power source, but 8tb is awesome though

Good product. Havent had any issues. Pretty simple plug and use setup

1. CrystalDiskMark to check status of the disk. 2. WD Data LifeGuard to do a full write (erase) to the disk. 3. Windows to do a full format 4. WD Data LifeGuard to do a long self test 5. Re-Verify data in Crystal Disk Info to make sure during all that nothing went bad.

We have accumulated an extensive catalog of digital media and had it scattered across a minimum of 5 different hard drives. This is the perfect solution to consolidate it all in one place. With the advances in TV technologies, it is nice that it is portable and can plug directly into a USB port on the television and you can watch direct without having to go through a laptop and HDMI connection.

I bought this particular hard drive to hook up to my new computer that I had just had built. I also own 5 other WD passport 4 tb external hard drives and have never had any problems with the WD brand. I am happy with my purchase and the speed of transfer rate.

Plugged this as an extension of my my cloud drive and works like it is supposed too

I'm using this to back up my music, pictures and video. Works as designed. No issues experienced.

As part of the holiday sales my local best buy had a 8tb Drive on sale for ~$130. When I got there I searched and picked up a WD 8TB assuming it was the advertised Drive, but it wasn't. This one didn't come with free cloud storage as did the advertised one, and it cost $30 more. When I went to customer service to see if they could match the advertised price I was told that they couldn't, and wouldn't. I bought it anyway.
