So far I have made 5 usb hard drive into one hard drive no more need to keep switching. Still have several room fore more will purchase another one when this becomes filled. Does have great speed for everything movies music documents would recommend to s friend.

It is affordable and large storage enough for my photos, music, videos, and other needs.

I've owned one of these devices before (by WD) and unfortunately lost ALL of my data as the drive failed at one point. Since that time, I've not purchased another external drive by WD however I've decided to give it another go with this purchase. Time will tell as I house critical data on this device but so far so good. ...but this time my data is redundant and I have it backed up twice to two different devices. ;)

This is a desktop external hard drive, which means it requires being plugged into the wall to work. That being said, transfer speeds seem to be faster than those of the smaller portable hard drives, which do not require being plugged in.

This is an 8 tera bite hard drive, so it has a lot of storage space for whatever.

I purchased this as a Deal of the Day, I have 6 TB of data to backup, and this 8TB external was the perfect way to do it. The software was easy to install and setup. How does it restore backups? Who knows, haven't had to do that yet, hopefully I won't have to.

Bought This Drive On Sale, It was the same price as the 4TB version regular price. Works as expected so far, it is USB 3.0 and a lot faster than older 2.0 and comes with backup software that seems to work although I have not tried to restore from a backup yet

WD has gotten better. Years ago I used to avoid WD drives in general but since BB stopped carrying most other brands except WD in the local stores I've begun using them again and they seem to be pretty good now.

Made by Western Digital which I have used for years, but this was a new model so I was not sure when I purchased, but it worked great right out of the box and I use it every day since it arrived with no problems.

It has large data storage about 8tb and include wd red hdd for nas. It is very stable thing.

Purchased this for a security system so we can have back up of the video, does as stated

This Is A Great External Hard Drive With LOTS Of Space But It Is A Bit On The Slow Side.

There is a great quality red drive inside. This is actually less money than the bare drive.

This was actually the second purchase of this hard drive... it,s huge 8 TB and Western Digital has fantastic phone support. I bought both drives to be my "Time Machine units for my iMacs...works great, no worries. Good price and dependable manufacturer.

Keep in mind the warranty is voided if you do this, but it works as an internal drive as well. I broke open the case without an issue and plugged these into my server. I have had these for almost a year and no issues yet.

Works as expected. As usual, only has about 7.2 TB available. Does not have too much preloaded software. I only use directly, and do not use the preloaded software, so cannot comment on how that works.

No issues with this hard drive. Purchased as a backup for photos and documents.
