Good large spaced backup drive at low cost

The only caveat is that the drive does power down or sleeps after a certain number of minutes of inactivity. With scheduled backups this can be problematic and cause a backup failure, which I have experienced already.

Worked as expected

Just plug it in and it is available, with USB 3.0 speeds. About 10x faster than USB 2. Needed to copy data to it, to ship out to a data recovery company. Worked great for our intended use.

Good fast 8 TB external drive

Not self powered from the USB port but sits next to the computer, blends in with the other "full sized" external HD units I have, along with a handful of portable HDs.

It is exactly what I needed to store video. I have had not issues with transfer speed or playback. The drive integrity is solid so far. I bought this on a sale and highly recommend.

Great Inexpensive Backup Drive

This drive allows me to dump completed projects off my computer while still allowing access to the files whenever needed. Highly recommend this drive.

NOT PlayStation 4 Compatible

This drive is actually 8.1 TB which is actually not a bad thing at all but i gave this a 1 star so you can read this if you want to use it for the PS4. My rating is only based on that i do not need it for my MacBook.

Great External Drive

After about a month in use, I found this drive to work great. The spin up time is a little slower than some other drives, but the transfer speed appears to be noticeably higher as well. These contain WD Red Drives.

This one is not password-protected so the connection is not lost and have to be reestablished like the WD One I previously bought that does have password protection

Very reliable WD Red NAS hdd inside
